William "Billy" Starnes Obituary

Ride fast. Live loud. Leave a hell of a story.

William “Billy” Edward Starnes took his final ride into the sunset — well, actually the moonlight — on the night of March 29, 2024, in Big Spring, Texas. Billy’s big smile was his passport into every heart he encountered. He could coax any engine to life and laughter into any room. He knew that the most precious cargo he ever carried was his family and the many friends who became family along the way.

Billy leaves behind a legacy of love and loyalty. He is survived by his wife Jodie Melton Mills; his sons William Shannon Starnes and Robert Daniel Starnes; stepchildren Brody Mills, Alex, Cameron, and Dusty Destiny Roland; granddaughter Ana Adams; mother Terrie Blaisdell; second father Paul Pistorino; grandmother Virginia Buttler; sisters Georgia Starnes and Megan Pistorino; brother Anthony Pistorino; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends, and pets he loved dearly.

He joins in heaven his father William B. Starnes, grandparents James Buttler and Jesse Wilson, nephew Michael Alan Searles III, and other beloved relatives and friends.

Billy lived life full throttle, and his spirit rides on. Until we meet again — ride free, Billy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at The Chop Shop Pub and Grub, 920 Lafayette Road, Seabrook, NH.

True to Billy’s spirit, his family has traded the idea of a traditional funeral for a couple of parties in his honor — just the way he would have wanted. While his final arrangements were made in Big Spring, Texas, where he spent his last few years, his family wanted to host a gathering in the Northeast, where Billy called home for many years. This celebration will give his friends and family in the area a chance to swap stories, raise a glass, and remember him. After 5:00 PM, the venue will transition to live music, and the celebration will continue into the night. All who knew and loved Billy are welcome. The venue allows all ages to attend.
