Valerie Ann Anderson (L’Abbe) beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 in Danvers, MA, on January 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born on May 17, 1951, in Beverly, MA, Valerie grew up in Danvers, where she attended Danvers High School, graduating with the class of 1969. After high school, Valerie entered the workforce and established a respected career as a Payroll Clerk at Verizon. Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering work ethic made her a valued member of the team for many years.
Known for her love of reading, Valerie could often be found with a book in hand, lost in stories that would whisk her away to different times and places. Her passion for gardening and planting flowers was very therapeutic for her even towards the end of her life. Valerie's love for nature was only matched by the love she had for her family, especially her grandson, Braydon Morris, with whom she spent countless hours sharing stories and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Valerie's life was marked by her dedication to her family, including her daughters, Kristin Anderson and the late Stacie Anderson, who were her pride and joy. Her siblings, Suzanne Walsh, Michael L’abbe, and Melanie L’abbe, will remember Valerie for her compassion, laughter, and the unwavering support she provided.
While her marriage to Leo F. Anderson ended, their shared journey brought forth a family that Valerie held close to her heart until her final days. Her love extended to her mini poodle, Toby, who was a constant companion, providing comfort and happiness during her quieter moments.
Valerie's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the simple joys of life. Her presence was a gift to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Valerie Ann Anderson, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the memories she has left.
Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she loved and who loved her in return. May she rest in peace, knowing she has left the world a better place for having been in it.
