Roger Rene Landry, embarked upon his final journey on March 1, 2026. Born in Salem, MA, on November 25, 1943, Roger's life was a vibrant tapestry of laughter and love. With his loving wife Mary by his side and in the comfort of the Kaplan house in Danvers, MA, Roger departed this world with the same dignity that marked his 82 years of life.
Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Cloutier Landry with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, his son Edward Landry and his wife Michele; his grandchildren Jared, Cameron and Cassidy Lin; step son’s David, Peter and Paul Rollins, their significant others and children, William, Andrew(deceased) and Brian; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Sr. and Marie Muse Landry, his brothers, Raymond Jr, Richard, Robert, sister Pat, and many close friends that he considered family.
Together, Mary and Roger built a life filled with joy and companionship. He was a proud graduate of Danvers High School, where he was known for his quick wit and kind heart, traits that would define his life. After graduation, Roger honorably served in the Marine Corps, and the Vietnam war where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. His Marine days were a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried into his civilian life. Following the Marine Corp, Roger worked
for AC Lawrence Leather before taking to the roads as a truck driver for Lily, Filene’s Basement and Highliner Foods before his retirement.
Roger's zest for life was infectious; he and Mary shared a love for vacationing and exploring new places while making memories with their close friends along the way. Roger loved the ocean, and saltwater fishing was another of his passions, a hobby that he shared with his son Ed. They embraced the serenity of nature and the thrill of the catch together. Roger's spirit of adventure was matched only by his love for his family and friends, and his home was always open. His Wheels and Roses saloon was a testament to this, a place where laughter filled the air and stories flowed as
freely as the drinks. Roger was a man who could light up a room with his humor. He had the rare gift of making every person he met feel important, giving each their own nickname and sending homemade cards signed by “The Judge”. He was funny without ever being unkind, loving without conditions, and kind to the core. It was these qualities that drew people to him.
As we say our final goodbyes to Roger Rene Landry, let us do so with a smile on our faces, remembering a man who taught us the value of laughter, the strength of love, and the importance of friendship. He will be deeply missed, but the stories of his kindness, his humor, and his love will continue to be told, ensuring that his legacy endures.
