PELLETIER, Robert (Bob) Alfred
Age 90, resident of Wenham, MA for sixty years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 24 December 2020, after bravely struggling with dementia for several years. He was predeceased by his wife Bettyjean (Haskell) Pelletier with whom he shared 56 years of Marriage.
Born in Danvers, MA December 9, 1930, Bob was the son of the late Joseph Pelletier and Amelia (Moquin) Pelletier. He was a graduate of Danvers High School Class of 1949. Shortly after Graduation he joined the Army where he was trained in Radio Repair before deploying to Germany as part of the HQ CO 3rd BN 109 INFANTRY 28th DIV proudly serving for several years. Bob was honorably discharged in 1953 as Acting Sargent and was awarded the Army Occupation Medal (Germany) and the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his return state side, he attended Massachusetts Radio School in Boston. Radio repair was to be his future, but with the emergence of Televisions he realized that the Television business was a better bet to provide for his growing family. He started Atlantic Radio and TV Repair in Danvers at the age of 26 and for next 40 years was busy working in an industry that he truly enjoyed. Bob was an ardent supporter of Boys Town, USO and The Jimmy Fund.
Bob was in his element with his Family surrounding him. Weekends spent around the pool, working in the garden in search of ingredients for his famous relish and pickles while chomping on the ever-present cigar. He was the go-to man for family carpentry projects. He was family entertainer with his “famous” magic trick and tap dance routine. He loved his animals especially Buddy. He loved his family.
Bob is survived by his daughter’s Roberta and Husband William Wilson of Wenham, Candy and Husband William McNeill of Danvers, Tracye and Husband Gary Jernegan of Ipswich, Dawn Pelletier of Wenham and Son Joseph Pelletier and Wife Katie of Danvers. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
Due to the Pandemic, Burial on 31 December 2020 will be a private ceremony at Wenham Cemetery. A celebration of Bob’s life will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers donations to Bob’s memory can be made to THE JIMMY FUND, 10 Brookline Pl, Brookline, MA 02445, Phone: (800) 525-4669
