Richard was happily retired from Verizon where he worked for over 40 years. He was an avid gardner and could be found often tending to his vegetables. When not in his garden, Richard could be also found relaxing in his happy place, Aruba, or enjoying a cup of clam chowder on Cape Cod. He also had a skill to cook comfort food for his family and they will miss this on holidays. Deeply committed to his family, Richard also went by Coach Rich when he coached his children in Little League Baseball, Pop Warner Football and Peabody Youth Soccer. When his grandchildren came along, Richard attended every sport game and dance recital. His true joy was the love he had for his family.
An avid Boston sports fan, he was always faithful to the Boston Red Sox - even when they were losing.
