Richard E. Hogan

Richard E. Hogan, 76, of Beverly, died peacefully on March 31, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Shirley (Irwin) Hogan. Born in Newton, Richard was a graduate of Boston University and went on to a long career in the Electronics Industry. He was the Vice President of Excellon in Torrance California for many years and the President of a few electronic companies in California. One of his greatest accomplishments was being the first person to ship a computer to Russia. Most recently he was the President at deHaart Technologies Inc., in Burlington, MA. Mr. Hogan was a member of the Wingaersheek Golf Club and the K of C in Beverly. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the US Army. He was honorably Discharged in July of 1955.He and his wife of fifty-one years have resided in Beverly since 1996. Besides his wife Shirley, he leaves two children; Teresa Hogan Johnson of Beverly and Mark W Hogan and his wife Mora of PA. Also leaving a brother Robert of GA. and six grandchildren; Wade Johnson and his fiancé Amanda Chiaradonna, James-Joseph Hogan, Cody Johnson, Sean Hogan,Caiden Hogan,Megan Johnson and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 14, 2012 at 10am in St. Brigid Parish,2001 Mass Ave, Lexington MA. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.There are no public visiting hours. Please make memorial donations to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
