Philip Gauthier Obituary

Philip Alan Gauthier “Phil” of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. passed peacefully on May 21,
2020 at home with family by his side. Phil was born in Old Town, ME on July 8, 1947 and
resided in Manchester for over 50 years.


Phil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Gauthier of Manchester, two daughters, Amy
Widronak of Newburyport and Danielle Gauthier of Manchester and by his grandson
Thomas Philip Widronak of Newburyport. He is also survived by many nieces and
nephews.


Phil was a proud US Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam. He worked for the
Town of Manchester for 38 years and was a member of the American Legion Amaral Baily
Post 113. Phil enjoyed fishing, spending time in Maine, watching the Red Sox and the
Patriots and spending time with his family. He could often be found at Masconomo park
reading the newspaper, walking the dog or chatting with a friend.


He is predeceased by his parents, Albert Gauthier and Helen Fendle (McClure) and his
siblings Robert Gauthier, Patricia Edwards, Richard Gauthier and David Gauthier.
