Peter Thimmer, Jr. Obituary

Peter J. Thimmer, Jr. 86 of Peabody, MA passed away peacefully on May 2nd at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Peter was the son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Morse) Thimmer of Hamilton, MA. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Caler) Thimmer.

Peter graduated from Hamilton High School, class of 1955. Upon graduation, he joined the Army as a heavy equipment operator stationed in New Jersey then later in Alaska. Before retirement, he was employed for many years as a manager at the former Neptune Lounge, also known as Patty’s Lounge in Beverly and as a manager at Sullivan’s Liquors in Lynn.

Peter enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at the food court in the North Shore Mall and at Dunk’s in Peabody. He loved bowling weekly at the Metro Bowl in Peabody, always trying to improve his score. You could always find him in front of the computer playing his favorite games on Pogo. His greatest joy was watching his two grandchildren, Savannah (his pumpkin) and Kolbi (his bud) grow up throughout the years, attending all their special events and most importantly spending quality time with them. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, especially by his daughter, Cyndi who cherished him being by her side whenever she needed him the most. He will always be the wind beneath her wings.

Peter is survived by his daughter Cyndi Shairs and her husband, Joe, daughter Shelly Thimmer, son Mike Thimmer, grandchildren Savannah and Kolbi Shairs, sister Jean Burr. sister-in-law Cindy Caler and her partner Bob Connors, sister-in-law Barbara Caler and her partner Harold Pierce, brother-in-law Alan Caler and his wife Debbie. Peter was preceded in death by his sisters Doris Louise Conlon and Margaret Ann Parker.

Peter never liked being the center of attention so per his wishes his graveside service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Fresenius Kidney Care 75 Newbury St. Danvers, MA 01923.
