Pauline Rita (Farris) Meehan, 93, passed away peacefully at home on February 13th following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Rumford, ME on November 21, 1928, daughter to the late George and Lena (Samson) Farris. At a young age, she moved from Portland to Rumford where she was raised by her maternal grandparents Alfred and Emma Samson. She graduated from Stevens High School in 1947. On November 25, 1951, Pauline married John Edward Meehan with whom she shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in July of 2004.
She is survived by her five children: Paul (wife Cathy) of Danvers; Kevin (companion Barbara Snyder) of Salisbury, MA; Mary Beth (husband Steve) of Loveland, OH; Gary of Danvers; and Sean (wife Guixia) of Tewksbury, MA. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Meehan.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Michael Meehan, Allison and Brett Kluge, Shane and Spencer Meehan. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren: Caren Lundgren, Kim Burrows (husband John), Frederick Lundgren (wife Rachel), Xiaobei Wang (wife Zoe Zeng).
She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pauline was employed for many years by Hunt Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Danvers Garden Club, the Danvers Art Association, and the Danvers YMCA. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, painting with watercolors, and going out for coffee with her friends from water aerobics.
She was a communicant at St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Danvers.
On Friday February 18th, visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, 24 Conant Street, Danvers, MA, to be immediately followed by a funeral Mass at the church.
