Patricia “Pat” (Adams) Ohlson of Middleton, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the age of 77 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Peabody, MA to John Adams and Eleanor Rainville on August 22,1944. She was raised and educated in Lynn, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. Pat married her high school sweetheart, Carl in 1963 and lived most of her adult life as a resident of Middleton, where they raised their two children. She was extremely intelligent and hardworking, employed as a mortgage underwriter, appraiser, and broker for many years, while furthering her education at Bentley University. She also served as North Reading chief assessor and was an elected assessor for the town of Middleton for 37 years.
Pat was selflessly and tirelessly dedicated to community service. She served for years on the town of Middleton’s school committee, contributed to forming the Town of Middleton’s Counsel on Aging, and was a huge part of the Aleppo HONS. Those who knew her could attest to her generosity and dedication to the causes she believed in.
Pat was preceded in the death by her parents, John Adams and Eleanor Rainville, brother, John Adams Jr. and daughter, Christina (Ohlson) Murphy.
Known by “Ma” to many, she was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Carl Ohlson Sr., her son Carl Ohlson Jr. and wife Kathleen Ohlson (Manchester, NH), granddaughters: Nicole Murphy and fiancé Ehab Younan (Peabody, MA), Jacqueline Murphy and husband Andrew Randall (Russellville, AR), and Samantha (Murphy)Hawkins and husband Joey Hawkins (Russellville, AR), and great grandchildren: Aiden, Morgan, Paysen, Brody, Mackenzie, Grayson and Emmalyn. Her family members were the pride and joy of Pat’s life. The legacy of Pat’s caring spirit, passion for helping others, love of animals and zest for life will live through them.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday August 24, from 5-8 pm at Mackey Funeral Home 128 S. Main St. (Rte. 114) Middleton, MA. Her Funeral Service will take place on Thursday August 25 at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery Middleton.
