Patricia A. (Donnelly) Desmond

Patricia A. Desmond (née Donnelly) passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Peabody, MA.

Patricia was born on July 3, 1932, in Melrose, MA but grew up in Revere and Everett in a big family with nine siblings.  She graduated from Everett High School and worked for many years at MetLife as an office manager and branch administrator.

After retiring, she volunteered for North Shore Elder Services, the West School in Peabody, and at Lahey Medical in Peabody.

Patricia enjoyed hosting lunches and dinners for family and friends, gardening, travel, attending concerts at the Boston Symphony, and visiting the Museum of Fine Arts and the Peabody Essex Museum.  She loved newspapers and tv news and decorating her home.

She is survived by her children Michael, Mark, Ann, and Katie, her sisters, Claire Anderson and Anne Zellen sisters-in-law Irene Donnelly and Susan Donnelly, brother-in-law John Desmond, Tom Zellen, and Phil Yosway , and her grandchildren, Jake, Sean, and Calleigh. Patricia was predeceased by her siblings Virginia, Edward, Frances, Jane, Kathleen (Kay), John, and Richard.

Arrangements: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 22, 2024, from 4-7 pm at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St. RT 114, Middleton, MA. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday August 23, 2024, at St. Adelaide’s Church, 712 Lowell St.  Peabody at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
