Michael J. “Mike” Berardino, age 65, of Peabody, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 20, 1960, in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late James and Nettie Berardino and the adored son-in-law of the late Anne Masiello. A graduate of Everett High School, he formed friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime, and he remained proud of his Everett roots.
Family was everything to Michael. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Theresa Masiello Berardino, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories. He never missed an opportunity to proudly tell the story of how they were Everett High School’s prom king and queen. Michael was a proud father to his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Eric Smith, and his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Elena Berardino. He is also survived by his sister, Lori Berardino, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Michael spent 40 years of his career as a laborer at Massport Authority at Boston Logan Airport. He wore many hats and genuinely enjoyed the airfield. He knew the runways like the back of his hand. Over the last several years, Michael enjoyed retirement with his family by taking a trip to Italy and proudly watching his children get married. He was loving, thoughtful, and selfless in all that he did.
He enjoyed good wine, Italian food, time spent in his yard with his family and dog, Isabella, and Boston sports. Among the places closest to Michael’s heart were Rockport, Provincetown, Race Point Beach, and the Cape Cod National Seashore. For much of his life, Provincetown was a place of happiness, peace, and treasured memories. He loved the ocean and the unmistakable feeling that came with returning to a place that felt like home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family and friends are welcome to come together to share memories and remember Michael.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boston Red Sox Foundation in Michael's memory.
