Mavis M. (McInnis) Preston, 84, of Danvers, died peacefully on Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington with her family at her side. She shared sixty-two years of marriage with her loving husband Alfred A. Preston of Danvers. Born in Lowell in 1927, she was the daughter of Angus and Alma (LaChance) McInnis. Mavis later graduated from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing and was employed for many years as a Registered Nurse at the Cedar Glen nursing home in Danvers. A longtime resident of Danvers, Mavis enjoyed reading and going on trips with Al. Mavis treasured time spent with her family members and many friends she met through the years. She made many new friends at the Rosewood Nursing Ctr. In W. Peabody where she resided for the past seven years. She leaves her six children; Edmund Preston and his wife Lynne of Chelmsford, Alfred Preston and his wife Charlene of Petersham, Constance Scanlon and her husband Patrick of Andover, Virginia Preston of Danvers, Elizabeth Stevens and her husband Walter of Danvers and Janis LaPierre and her husband Michael of Bradford. Also leaving a sister Carolyn Howe of Lowell and her loving grandchildren; Sam, Leah, Erin, Jane, Janis, David, Shaina, Matthew, Dave, Phillip, Carolyn, Daniel, Alex , Jack and her great grandchildren; Matthew, Collin, Bradley and Hazel. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Constance Cotreau. Arrangements: As requested her funeral arrangements will be private.
