Matthew Blue Welsh

Matthew Blue Welsh, born July 24, 1978, died unexpectedly on January 17th. 

Matthew, better known as Matt, grew up in Middleton, Massachusetts and attended Masconomet Regional High School. He built his life around hard work and adventure, spending the past 20 years as an Iron Worker with Boston’s Local 7 Union, and finding peace and excitement on the water tuna fishing. 

He was known for his quick wit, mischievous sense of humor, and adventurous spirit. Matt kept those around him on their toes and could always be counted on to bring laughter into a room. He had a bold personality and lived life with intensity and curiosity. 

Matt was predeceased by his parents, Roberta and Leonard Welsh. He is survived by his sister Lisa Voisine and her children, Laura and Travis all of Danvers; his sister Pamela Perry, her husband, Glenn and their children, Alex and Jack of Round Rock Texas; and his beloved sons, Matthew and Robert Welsh of Topsfield. 

Matt will be remembered for his humor, his love of the ocean, his dedication to his work, and the indelible mark he left on those who knew him. He will live on through the stories, memories, and the love shared by his family and friends.
