Mary Delores Silverman, a beacon of love, generosity and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Danvers, MA, at the age of 85 surrounded by her family. Born on January 30, 1940, in Lynn, MA, Mary lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a spirited zest for the simple pleasures.
Mary's early years were spent in Lynn, where she attended St. Mary's. Her journey was shared with her beloved parents, Edward and Anna Grant, who predeceased her, as did her cherished sisters, Barbara Harkness and Patricia Chalmers. Mary's life was further enriched by her marriage to Harry Silverman, who also preceded her in death, leaving a legacy of love and partnership that would forever be remembered by all who knew them.
Professionally, Mary excelled in retail management and hospitality, where her warmth and keen sense of service won her the respect and affection of colleagues and customers alike.
The foundation Mary built her life upon gave her resilience through challenges and a profound appreciation for moments of joy and togetherness. Her love for reading and crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp, while her passion for shopping was matched only by the joy she found in the company of her family and the animals she adored.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Mark Cronin and his wife Doreen; her daughters, Erin Cronin and her long-time partner Roger, Maureen Burr and her husband Scott, and Cathleen Cronin and her wife Robin. Her legacy will live on through her granddaughters, Allison and Amanda Cronin, who will forever cherish the love and life lessons their grandmother imparted. Mary's surviving sisters, Anna Orlando, Georgia Kallery, and Theresa Sheehan, along with many beloved nieces and nephews, will continue to honor her memory through the values she embodied.
As we bid farewell to Mary Delores Silverman, we celebrate a life lived with grace and a heart that overflowed with compassion. Her spirit, a gentle and loving presence, will remain with us always, as a reminder of the profound impact one life can have on so many.
