Mary Louise (Grenon) Dalton 83, Formerly of Lynn, Lynnfield, Middleton and Peabody died on September 25, 2024. Born April 30, 1941, in Lynn, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Louise (Kiely) Grenon and the sister to the late Paul Grenon. Mary was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College School of Education 1962 and taught at second grade in Lynn Public Schools.
Later in life she obtained her degree in interior design from Chamberlayne Junior College and then worked as an interior designer for 20+ years. She was an artist and painting, gardening and architecture. She married the late Joseph F. Dalton in 1962, and together they raised three children in Lynn and Lynnfield. She was a devoted care giver to her deceased husband
Joe throughout a lengthy illness and an immensely proud Grandmother of five grandchildren and their spouses. She leaves Michael P. Dalton and his wife Amy of Woburn, MA, Kathleen L. Dalton and her husband Dr. Wayne Wivell of Gainesville FL, and Susan A. Murphy of Reading, MA along with five grandchildren Brian Wivell and his wife Jacquelyn Smith, Emily Craig and her husband Nick Craig, Matthew Murphy, Joseph Dalton and Timothy Murphy and her nephew Paul Grenon.
She was the beloved and witty “Mimi” to her grandchildren. She also leaves her many cousins from the Grenon and Kiely families, her friends from Boston College, Oak Ridge Circle, Lynnfield, Lewis Bay, Fox Run and her blessed caregivers from Brooksby.
Visiting hours will be held at Mackey Funeral Home 128 S Main St, Middleton, MA 01949 on Monday September 30 from 9 AM – 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church 758 Salem Street, Lynnfield, MA.
