Mary Arsenault Obituary

Mary F. (Normand) Arsenault, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on April 30, 2022.  She was the wife of Francis J. Arsenault with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.  She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Kathleen Marie.
Born in Boston on May 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Leo N. and Frances (Koziski) Normand.  She was raised in Salem, MA, and was educated at St. Chretienne Academy in Salem and at St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Brighton, MA.  Mary was employed as a registered nurse for over forty years at Salem Hospital and Mary Alley Hospital in Marblehead.
Mary was a communicant at St. Richard’s Parish in Danvers, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, on occasion bringing communion to neighboring nursing homes.  She also donated her time and energy to the Pine Street Inn.
Aside from her greatest joy of watching her six grandsons mature, she was a long-time member (since 1973) of the Danvers Garden Club.  She enjoyed knitting, gardening and traveling.  She also took great pride in decorating her home for family and friends to enjoy.  She proudly opened her home for the Danvers Garden Club on two occasions for house tours; one for Christmas and the second a June tour. In her retirement years, she and Francis traveled with the Danvers Council on Aging to see China, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Russia, Hawaii, Aruba, Alaska and Amsterdam, Netherlands.  One of her highlight trips was a 30 day driving and camping excursion around the United State’s national parks with her family during the bicentennial year of 1976.
Mary is survived by her husband, Francis, her daughter, Paula Mullaney and her husband Stephen of Danvers, MA, her sons Robert Arsenault and his wife Cynthia of Danvers, MA and Daniel Arsenault and his wife, Theona, of Beverly, MA and her six grandsons, Kyle Mullaney, Kristopher Mullaney, Thomas Arsenault, John Arsenault, Robert P. Arsenault and Luke Arsenault.  She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Landry and her husband, Will, of Nashua, NH.
