Marie S. DiPietro of Middleton, MA died on May 2nd at CareOne Nursing Home in Beverly. She was born in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Addonizzio) Panico of Chelsea, MA.
She graduated from St. Rose’s High School in Chelsea, MA. Marie married Frank DiPietro in April 1953 and was a homemaker for many years, raising her 3 boys in Reading, MA. In the late ’70s, Marie re-entered the workforce at Digital Equipment Corporation in Andover, MA where she worked as a Customer Service Representative for 15 years. After taking an early retiring from Digital, Marie worked for the Massachusetts State Housing Authority for 20 years and fully retired at 82 years of age.
Marie enjoyed spending time with her 3 sons and their families and friends. She was an avid ballroom dancer, liked to watch classic movies, and enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking.
In addition to Marie’s son Frank of Middleton, who passed away in March of 2020, Marie is survived by her 2 other sons Lawrence of Wakefield and Joseph (and his wife Kathryn) of Beverly, her daughter-in-law, Debbie DiPietro of Middleton and 7 grandchildren: Doug, Greg (and his wife Melissa), Corinne, Michael, Robin (and her husband Dave), Sophia and Olivia, and her 2 great-grand-daughters Vivian and Cecilia, as well as her sister-in-law, Gigi Panico of Wakefield and 2 nieces, Gloria and Sandra.
Visitation on Thursday morning from 9-11am at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Rt. 114, Middleton, MA. A Service will be held at 11am followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
