It is with great sadness that the family of Louis “Lou" Perrino, Jr., of Peabody, announces his peaceful passing on January 22, 2024, at the age of 81.
Born on November 21, 1942, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Lou was the cherished son of Luigi and Marie (Ells) Perrino (D) He was a loving brother to Linda (D), Deborah (D) and Earle. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.
Lou's life was a testament to his love of family, the value of hard work, and the importance of laughter. He shared 59 wonderful years with the love of his life, Linda (Stevens) Perrino. Together, they raised a wonderful family, including their children John, Sheri (Perrino) Kelleher, and Kevin, Sr. Lou's legacy continued to flourish with his adored grandchildren, Kaitlin, MJ, Aiden, and Kevin Jr., as well as his extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
For 36 years, he worked at G.E. in Everett/Lynn where his dedication and skill were well recognized. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love of sports.
Lou found joy in his role as an ASA umpire and his time spent as a ranger and starter at the Meadows Golf Course. These positions allowed him to engage with people from all walks of life, sharing stories and creating memories.
Outside of work, he was a man of many interests and talents. As an avid golfer Lou, could often be found on the green, practicing his putting and enjoying the camaraderie of his fellow golf buddies. He was also a skilled video memory transfer artist, preserving precious family moments for his customers. His competitive spirit shone through in games of bocce, corn hole, and chase the ace.
Known to some as THE OAK, he was the beloved Patriarch at family gatherings where his story telling, and sense of humor were at the heart of every celebration. Lou was also known for his love of a friendly wager, often betting nickels with a twinkle in his eye, a practice that became a cherished tradition among his family and friends.
There are no words to express how much Lou will be missed by all who knew and loved him!
Visitation on Friday evening from 4pm-6:30pm at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St. Rt. 114, Middleton, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Lou on Saturday at 10am at St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, Conant St., Danvers. Kindly meet at the church. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lou’s memory to the Kaplan family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
