Linda Dodge Coulson
April 9, 1950 – August 12, 2025
Linda Dodge Coulson, 75, of Danvers, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, on April 9, 1950, Linda was a lifelong North Shore resident and a proud graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1968.
Linda was a woman of incredible range and determination, earning her Journeyman Mason certification in 1986, a field not often pursued by women at the time, and later receiving her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell in 2002. Her academic and professional achievements reflected a fierce intellect, an independent spirit, and a lifelong love of learning.
She was also an artist in the truest sense — a talented flutist and piccolo player, performing in both concert and marching bands in high school and continuing her passion as an adult by playing in a North Shore orchestra. Linda found joy and creativity in sailing, sewing, crafting, beachcombing, musical theater, cooking, baking, and shopping. She brought color, laughter, and generosity wherever she went.
Linda was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Coulson and a devoted mother to her daughter, Niamh M. Koch (partner Richard W. Moncrief), and son, Devin M. Miller. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Drew T. Koch, who brought her endless joy.
She is also survived by her cherished siblings: sister Andrea D. Ackermann (Paul R. Ackermann) and brother Julian L. Dodge (Lynne E. Carroll). Linda shared a close bond with her niece Katherine J. Ackermann (Christian D. Bruncsak). She is also lovingly remembered by a wide circle of extended family — including many cousins — and an abundance of dear friends, all of whom brought joy, support, and companionship to her life. Linda valued these relationships deeply, and the love she gave and received from this community was one of the great constants of her life.
If desired, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the MSPCA-Angell, a cause that reflected her lifelong love of animals. (see the link below)
Linda’s legacy is one of strength, creativity, and heart. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
