Kevin J. Kiley of Middleton, formerly of Topsfield, Wakefield and Melrose, beloved husband of Carol Volk Kiley passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2021. He was 84 years young.

Kevin was the loving husband of Carol for 60 years. He was also the cherished father of Kevin J. Kiley of Newburyport, Karen Kiley-Brabeck of Reading (husband David) and Christopher J. Kiley (wife Patricia) of Lexington, SC.

Papa was the beloved grandfather of Cassandra Kiley Behrendsen of Danville, NH (husband Christopher), Samantha Kiley Brabeck and Caroline Marie Brabeck of Reading, and Christopher Kiley of Burlington, NC (wife Tara). He was the great grandfather of Callen Behrendsen and Christopher P. Kiley. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Grazewski of Shrewsbury, MA and brother-in-law, William Volk of North Conway, NH (wife Mary Ann). Kevin was predeceased by his sister, Philomena Carmichael of Concord, MA and Stephen Kiley of Wakefield. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.

Kevin was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School in 1954. He then graduated from Boston College in 1959. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and reported to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

Kevin married his high school sweetheart, Carol Volk, on September 10, 1960, and left immediately for Fort Bragg, NC. Kevin was promoted to First Lieutenant and then to Captain. He was honorably discharged as Captain in the U.S. Army in January 1969.

Kevin was employed as an insurance executive for over 45 years. Before his retirement, he was a Partner at Catalano Insurance in Methuen.

Kevin was a loving father to his children and a devoted Papa to his grandchildren. He never missed a family occasion, school celebration, sporting event or cheering competition. He was a strong and steady presence in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. When he wasn’t with family, Kevin was often found golfing at Wenham Country Club and formerly at Olde Newbury Golf Course.

A devout Catholic, Kevin was an active parishioner at St. Agnes Parish in Middleton and previously St. Rose of Lima in Topsfield. Many Sunday mornings, Kevin was awake early, preparing parish breakfasts for the Middleton Knights of Columbus. Kevin was previously the Grand Knight of both the Wakefield and Westfield Knights of Columbus.

Service was a major focus in Kevin’s life. He was on the Board of Directors at Fuller Pond in Middleton and served fifteen years on the Middleton Light Department Board. Prior, he volunteered for the Topsfield Water Board and Topsfield Highway Department Board for over twenty years.

In addition to golfing and spending time with friends and loved ones, Kevin and Carol spent their last fifteen winters in FL. They also enjoyed traveling with friends throughout Europe. Kevin even tried his hand at gardening as he had a special knack of always finding a four leaf clover.
