Judith Brown Obituary

Judith Rae Brown, affectionately known as Judy to her loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Peabody, MA, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on July 29, 1941, in Boston, MA, Judy was a beacon of light and love throughout her 83 years of life.

Judy grew up in Brookline, Pembroke then Melrose, MA. The cherished daughter of Spencer and Shirley Rollins, and the adored sister of Peter Rollins. She was a bright and eager student, graduating from Melrose High School (MA) in 1959 and going on to earn her Associate's Degree from Westbrook Jr. College (ME) in 1961. It was during these formative years that Judy's compassionate nature and keen intellect began to shine.

After college, Judy embarked on her career as a Medical Assistant, where she worked from 1961 to 1965. Her dedication to helping others was evident in her meticulous care for patients and her warm manner. In 1981, Judy found a new avenue as the Church Administrator at Wilbraham United Church, a position she held with grace and diligence until 1993.

Judy's heart found its truest joy in her family. She married the love of her life, David Dudley Brown, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter in Wilbraham, Cape Cod and Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA. Judy was the proud mother of two sons, Scott and Andrew, and mother-in-law to Debra. She was also a doting grandmother to six grandchildren: Samuel, Tess, Jack, Sean, Spencer, and Katie.

The family vacation home on Cape Cod “The Point” held a special place in Judy's heart. It was here that she spent many summers and weekends, creating unforgettable memories with her family. She relished in boating with family and friends, and her spirit was always uplifted by watching her boys play hockey during their youth. Judy's grandchildren were the light of her life; she cherished every moment spent with them and made a point to create individual memories with each that they will hold dear forever.

Judy's legacy is one of unwavering love, deep faith, and selfless devotion. Her loving nature was a comfort to all who knew her, and her faith-filled life was an inspiration. Always putting others before herself, Judy's selflessness was a guiding principle in her life.

As we say goodbye to Judy, we remember a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.

Judy's passing is a profound loss to all who had the privilege of knowing her, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her warmth, her smile, and her unwavering positivity will never be forgotten. Judy's life was a beautiful portrait of love in action, and she will be deeply missed by all.

In honor of Judy's life and legacy, her family will hold a Memorial Visitation at Mackey Funeral Home (128 South Main Street in Middleton, MA) on Friday, March 28th from 4-7PM and a Memorial Service at First Church in Wenham (One Arbor St., Wenham, MA) on Saturday, March 29th at 11AM to celebrate the incredible woman she was.

As we reflect on Judy's life, let us hold close the memories and values she imparted to us, and let her example of love and service continue to light our paths. Judy's journey on earth has ended, but her story will continue to be told by those who loved her most. Rest in peace, dear Judy. Your love lives on.
