Joseph Frank Leone, 98, of Danvers, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Joe was born on April 2, 1923, in Providence, RI to Sebastiano and Josefina Leone.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Joe was a graduate of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist until his retirement. He was married to the late Angela LaRosa.
Joe loved to tinker with home improvement projects and over time amassed quite a tool collection. He enjoyed reading and all sorts of academic pursuits. He was the king of day trips and took his family to every imaginable scenic stop within a 3-hour radius. He loved dogs, especially his favorites – Bridgette and Gianni.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Robin Leone and her partner, Barbara Hockhousen of Coventry, RI, his daughter, Bonnie Liotti and her husband Maurizio of Danvers, MA, and his grandchildren Michael Liotti, Jacob O’Brien, Dylan O’Brien, Marcus O’Brien, and the light of his life, Christina Liotti.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kaplan Family Hospice House for the excellent care Joe received during his last days.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, December 3 at the chapel at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
