John J. Westfield

John Joseph Westfield, 83 of Topsfield, MA passed away on October 20, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. John was born in Boston to Francis and Magdalene Westfield.

John was a graduate of Boston College High School, Holy Cross College, and Boston University. He served as a lieutenant in the US Navy. He was a teacher and coach at the Orme School in Arizona and St John’s Prep in Danvers for 39 years, as well as an adjunct professor at Bunker Hill Community College.

John is survived by his wife Robin of Topsfield, his son Michael Westfield and his wife Mami of Quincy, his daughter Meredith Sokolowski and her husband Erik of Topsfield, and two granddaughters, Lily and Grace.

John was the loving brother of the late Florence Haydon and her late husband Ron of Wayland, NY, Frank Westfield and his late wife Emily of Naples, FL, Madeline Dierkhising and her husband Drake of Sonoma, CA, Charles Westfield of Little Falls, NY, Mary Sulls and her late husband Dan of Naples, FL, and the late Joe Westfield and his wife Peggy of Hanson, MA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory. (see the link below )
