Joanne G. Dorgan

Joanne Grace Dorgan (Luongo), affectionately known as Nanni, passed away on August, 15, 2024 at the age of 86 in Danvers, MA.  Born on January 24, 1938, in Boston (North End), MA, Joanne was a lifelong resident of Massachusetts and a cherished member of her community.

Joanne graduated from Julie Billiart High School in Boston’s North End and dedicated 39 years of her career to State Street Bank, where her commitment and hard work left a lasting impact.  She was a woman of many passions, including traveling the world, indulging in the arts of the theatre, and escaping into the pages of a good book.  Above all, Joanne found her greatest joy in the company of her expansive and loving family.

Joanne is survived by her adoring children, Laureen Brickley of Middleton, Denise Hudson and Renee Porter of Saugus, James and Marie Dorgan, and Kevin and Joanne Dorgan, of West Peabody.  She also leaves behind her cherished brother Richard Longo and his wife Maryann of Boston’s North End and lifelong friends, Maureen and Louie Bono of Saugus, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Joanne was a proud and loving grandmother to Kristin Banacos, Megan Marshall, Charles Hudson, Michelle Brickley, Rachael Hudson, Samantha Dorgan, James Dorgan, Ashley and Emma Dorgan, and great-grandmother to Nicholas Banacos and Charley Maloney. They were by far her pride and joy.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma (DeCarlo) Luongo, and her brothers John and John Nicholas Luongo.

At the request of her children, memorial services will be private, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.  Mackey Funeral Home in Middleton, MA is assisting the family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne’s memory to the Kaplan House in Danvers, MA ( 78 Liberty St.) - honoring her compassionate spirit and love of life.
