Jeffrey R. Barber, 64, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 after battling a sudden illness. He was born on January 4, 1956 to Robert F. and Jane A. (Boocock) Barber in Troy, New York. Raised in Troy until 12 years of age, he and his family moved to Marblehead MA. Jeff graduated from Marblehead High School where he enjoyed all sports, most notably hockey, which inspired him to become a manager of the MHS hockey team. Jeff's largest passion turned into a lifelong career, as a firefighter and EMT for the Melrose and Middleton Fire Departments. In 2013 with a full heart, he retired from the Middleton Fire Department. He took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson and collecting Harley Davidson T-Shirts from around the country. Jeff also enjoyed tinkering with his vintage 1950's White Mack Fire Truck, and vacationing in Florida. Jeff is survived by his partner, Arden Cuoco of Middleton, His brother David and wife Marianne of Marblehead, his sister Susan and her husband Ken Allen of Greenwood MN. His step children; Jesse Griffin, Danielle Filtranti-Kelly & her husband Patrick Kelly, and Jay Filtranti. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
