Jean Ellen "Jeannie" (Watson) Mscisz passed away peacefully in Danvers, MA, on August 11, 2024 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 16, 1948, in Salem, MA, Jeannie was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Alma (Pitman) Watson, and the devoted wife of the late Louis M. Mscisz.
Jeannie's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and the joy she found in everyday moments. A proud graduate of Masconomet High School, Class of 1966, she carried the lessons and friendships from those early years throughout her life. Jeannie, alongside her late husband, Louie, poured her heart into their business, Louis Mscisz Construction. Later, she continued to touch lives through her work at Beverly Hospital, where her kindness left a lasting impression on both colleagues and patients.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence. Jeannie's legacy is carried on by her four loving daughters, Patricia Prentiss and her husband Rob, Linda Freitas and her husband John, Rosemary Mscisz, and Anna Mscisz. She was the adored grandmother of Elizabeth, Robert, Ashley, and Louis, whose lives she brightened with her unwavering support and love. Jeannie is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Gabriel and her husband Charles, Gail Sabino and her husband Dave, Barbara Mortalo and her husband Vito, Shirley Hills and Sandra Wells. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Broughton and her husband Edward, and her brother Charles Watson. Her numerous nieces and nephews will also hold dear the memories of their kind and loving Aunt Jeannie.
Jeannie's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Her gardens were a testament to her patience and care, while her cooking and sewing brought comfort and beauty to her family home. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, whether cheering them on at sporting events, celebrating their academic achievements, or simply being present in their lives. The family camp on Sibley Pond in Maine was a cherished retreat where memories were made with her friends Sue Caverly and her late husband Frank and Sam and Abigail Nelson. A lover of a good mystery novel, Jeannie always enjoyed getting lost in the pages of a captivating story.
The words loving, kind, and selfless best describe Jeannie. She lived these qualities every day, touching the lives of those around her in profound ways. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and the joy she found in serving others will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we say goodbye to Jean Ellen "Jeannie" Mscisz, we celebrate a life lived with grace and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her presence will forever be felt in the lives of those she loved and the countless moments of happiness and care she provided.
