Janet Leary

Janet Irene Leary (Marcotte) passed away at home July 19, 2023 with her family and friends around her. She died from complications of cancer. Janet first had breast cancer 35 years ago and survived to live a wonderfully fulfilling life having been able to enjoy her family, friends and interests for that entire time. That is truly a blessing. 

Janet was born in Salem, MA on December 13, 1938 to Carmillo and Louise Marcotte. She grew up in Salem, MA and Lowell, MA.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Buddy and Scott Leary. She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter Dawn and her husband, Lenny and Janet's grandchildren, Jacob and Grace and her partner Ridge; grandson Christopher and his fiancé Brittney; granddaughter Colleen and her husband Tyler and Janet's great grandchildren Madison and McKenzie. 

Janet and Frank were married 64 years and lived in Middleton for the last 60 years. They enjoyed going to dinner and breakfasts and went on many trips over the years including their most frequented place, Poland Springs, ME that they usually went to with friends.

Over the years, Janet worked at a coffee shop, in medical records, as a home CNA, but her number one favorite job in the world was taking care of her grandchildren. 

Janet loved going for walks, swimming, water aerobics, stretch class, shopping, and bragging about all her grandkids. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends over tea. 

Janet was always so sweet and positive. She never complained and always had some great advice or something nice and encouraging to say to you. She'll be missed by everyone that knew her.
