Son of the late Eleanor Powell and Daniel Crowley, born in Somerville in 1938, graduate of Malden High School, member of the National Guard and Irish American.  James was married to his wife for 56 years and raised a wonderful family in Everett.  He was an instrumental part of another family, the Conti family, where he worked at Everett Aluminum for 48 years.  His passion was taking care of customers and meeting the needs of so many that walked through the door. He enjoyed coaching Immaculate CYO basketball in Everett and attending many sporting events of his children.  A friend to all who crossed his path.  A true gentle spirit.

James was an avid camper and loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed the simple things in life and looked forward being with friends and family which were most important to him.

James is survived by his wife Gertrude (Trudy) Crowley (Laskey), brothers Daniel and wife Theresa, the late Robert and Ann, brother-in-law of George Laskey and the late Barbara Long, step brother of the late Raymond Powell, daughter Kathleen Crowley-Paoletta and her husband Joseph of Saugus, son James Crowley and wife Kristine of Malden, daughter Karen Crowley Caldwell Oehme and husband Walter of Lowell, son Joseph Crowley and wife Cheryl of Middleton, and Foster Child Martin Mickle of North Carolina.  Also survived by seven grandchildren, JC, Kelsie, Amber, Joseph, Ryan, Brian and Lilyann along with many nieces and nephews.

Viewing Arrangements will take place on Thursday, June 4th at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 South Main Street, Route 114 West, Middleton, by invitation only and a certain visiting schedule due to the devastating effects of COVID-19.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 5th at St. Joseph’s Church, 790 Salem Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. by invitation only.  Friends are welcomed to attend in vehicles in the Parking lot to listen via an audio sound system again relating to the Pandemic.  Immediately following, the Intermittent service will be held at Puritan Lawn in Peabody, MA.
