Jacqueline (Pflug) McLeod

Jackie McLeod passed away peacefully this week with her family at her side. She was caring, loyal, and determined; her strength was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Jackie, also known lovingly as Jookie, Gram, Grammy, and Mrs. M, was cherished by so many who saw her as a mother figure: her children, friends of her children, young people in the neighborhood or church guitar group, and even the priests who came through Saint Augustine Parish throughout her years of volunteer service there. She always had a bright smile and kind and sometimes cheeky words to share. She loved to read, watch British murder mysteries, relax at the beach, and spend time on sidelines, fields, and in audiences cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jackie was looking forward to being reunited with her husband, Donald Francis McLeod Sr., and her son, Scott William McLeod, who both predeceased her. Jackie is survived by a wide array of friends, from Saint Augustine’s Parish on Tower Hill to St. Mary's High School in Lawrence, and to the many jobs she held over the years for law firms, Phillips Academy, and Merrimack College, where she worked until she was 80 years old. Jackie is also survived by her family: Debra Dawson and her husband, Alan; Kimberly Martineau and her husband, Joseph; Donald McLeod, Jr.; and Amy McLeod and her husband, William Callahan, Jr. Jackie will be dearly missed and forever cherished by her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

At Jackie's request, there are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them at a service at the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum on Woodland Street in Methuen on Friday, December 13 at 12:00 noon.
