Ignazio Pendola, a cherished master carpenter whose hands shaped wood as gently as they cradled the hearts of those he loved, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 21, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in the rustic town of Salemi, Sicily, Italy, on August 20, 1946, Ignazio, was the embodiment of wisdom, gentleness, and boundless love.
Growing up in the sun-kissed hills of his homeland, Ignazio developed a profound respect for craftsmanship, a passion that would guide the course of his life. After moving to Boston, and setting roots, Ignazio built a legacy as a master carpenter, renowned for his ability to turn timber into both foundational structures and intricate works of art. His dedication to his craft earned him the admiration of peers and the community alike, as his hands expertly crafted everything from sturdy houses, exquisite custom kitchen cabinets to restaurants.
Ignazio was the loving husband of Antonietta (Cascio) Pendola. He was the devoted father to Giuseppe (Joseph) Pendola and his wife Angela. He was the loving Nonno of Sabrina and her husband Robert, and Gianna.
Beloved brother to Giovanni Pendola and his late wife Giuseppina, and Rosaria (Pendola) Lombardo, all in Sicily.
Brother-in-law to Rosario Cascio and his wife Lidia, and Maria Cascio. Ignazio is also survived by many nieces and nephews both here and in Europe.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody for a Graveside Service arrival at 10:45am.
