Hope R. Gaffney

Hope Regina (Callan) Gaffney, 89, passed away on June 14, 2023 at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness.  

Born in Boston on May 25, 1934, she was the daughter of Luke and Sarah (Flynn) Callan.

Hope was raised in Peabody and attended St. John's High School where she made lifelong friendships. Upon graduating, Hope embarked on a career as a Unit Secretary at Hunt Hospital in Danvers and Beverly Hospital. She married her late husband, Kevin Gaffney in 1957 and raised her family in Danvers.

Hope will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew her. Her kindness, warmth and laughter will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Hope was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kevin Gaffney, and her siblings Mary Petkewich, Agnes Glinski, Joseph Callan, Sarah Moran, Emma Minott, Catherine Callan, Luke Callan, and Rita Frasca. She is survived by her loving children, Beth Duncliffe and her husband Bill of Amesbury, MA; Kevin Gaffney and his wife Cheryl of Derry, NH; and Maureen Gaffney of Middleton, MA. Hope was also the cherished grandmother of Meghan Watson and her husband Matt of Boxford, MA; Eamonn Duncliffe and his wife Sarah of Cornish, ME; Rose Carter and her husband Tom of Lynn, MA; Rachel Cura of Derry, NH; and Kylie Gaffney of Derry, NH. She was the proud great-grandmother of Reese Watson, Connor Watson, Alison Carter, William Carter, and Aoife Duncliffe.
