Middleton — Mr. H. William (Bill) Paul, 89 years of Middleton, formerly of Danvers, passed away on January 29, 2024, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Judith (Brown) Paul, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on May 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Lyle A. and Blanche L. (Tisdell) Paul. Bill was raised in Middleton and graduated from Holten High School in Danvers. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a diesel mechanic aboard the U.S.S. Nahant, home port Virginia.
He is a retiree of TD Bank (formerly Family Mutual Savings Bank). Bill began his banking career in 1960. He was named Assistant Vice President of Family Mutual in 1972. In 1973, Bill was responsible for organizing the installment loan department and for several years worked as a commercial loan officer. He was the branch manager in Middleton and at the time of his retirement worked at the corporate office in Haverhill.
Bill graduated from the Williams College School of Banking and Massachusetts School for Financial Studies as well as completing several courses through the American Institute of Banking.
Loving father and grandfather of Deborah S. Eveland and her husband, Raymond, and their sons, Raymond and Matthew of North Carolina, Dawna R. Blum and her husband, Leonard, and their children, Antonino, Amber, Sereena and Mia of North Andover and Dana A. Paul and his wife, Eileen, and their son, Austin of Middleton; proud great-grandfather of seven, Palmer, Nora, Hannah, Connor, Hadley, William and Quinn. He leaves his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Edward Raynard of Middleton and his nephews, Robert Raynard and his family of California and William Raynard and his family of Middleton.
Bill is a retired member of the National Ski Patrol, earning the National Number 6414. He has been a Master Mason for 67 years. Bill is a former member of the Middleton Board of Trade, Middleton Lions Club, North Shore Chamber of Commerce, International Rescue and First Aid Association and the United States Power Squadrons.
Bill and Judy spent their summers and later their retirement years at Lake Quantabacook in Searsmont, Maine where Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Lake Association. The best days at the lake were those that included family cruises on their pontoon boat.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 South Main St. (Rt 114), Middleton, Monday, February 5, 2024 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm with a U.S. Navy Funeral Honors .
