Gordon Otis Obituary

Gordon Otis, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Dover, New Hampshire, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 9, 1957, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Gordon was a man whose life was marked by dedication, compassion, and a spirited love for his community and family.

Gordon was the proud son of the late Robert and Jean Otis and grew up alongside his sisters, Judy Curtin and Cheryl Ash. He was a supportive brother-in-law to Mike Curtin and a doting uncle to his nieces, Summer and Olivia Curtin. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he often shared his wisdom and love with them in countless, memorable ways.

After earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts Boston, Gordon dedicated 25 years to AON as a Senior Risk Control Consultant, where his expertise and diligence were highly valued. His commitment to public service was evident through his work as a call firefighter in Lynnfield, a role he embraced with bravery and pride.

Gordon's interests reflected the depth and variety of his character. An avid New England sports fan, he found joy and excitement in cheering on his favorite teams. His passion for travel led him to explore the world, experiencing different cultures and creating memories in distant lands. A lover of dogs, Gordon found companionship and joy in the company of his four-legged friends. He was also a regular reader of the Wall Street Journal, staying informed and engaged with the world around him.

His love for the ocean was unmistakable. Gordon cherished spending time at the beach, where the sand and surf offered him a place of solace and reflection. Friends and family will fondly remember his thoughtful conversations and the loving kindness he extended to everyone around him.

Gordon's legacy is one of kindness and thoughtfulness, traits that were the essence of his being. He approached life with a loving heart, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. His gentle spirit and kind demeanor will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

We bid farewell to Gordon Otis, a man of integrity and warmth, whose life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. As he finds peace, we celebrate the enduring light of his presence that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him. Services on Monday starting at 10:30 in the Funeral Home.
