Danvers - March 17, 1927 – October 20, 2020 at the age of 93. Gloria A. Brooks Lipinski was granted her Angel Wings on October 20, 2020, with her children by her side after a period of declining health at Hathorne Hill in Danvers. She was a lifelong resident of Danvers.
She was the wife of John J. Lipinski, Sr., who died in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Henry W. Brooks, Sr., and Alice D’Amour Brooks.
She was the oldest of seven siblings: Virginia Brooks Kavanaugh & John; Ralph Brooks & Kay; Robert Brooks; Christine Roy; and the late Henry W. Brooks, Jr., and Shirley Brooks Stone.
Gloria was the mother of Alice Lipinski Tierney of Middleton and Bruce J. Lipinski of Gloucester, and the late Joseph F. Lipinski and John J. Lipinski, Jr.
She is also the Mother-in-law of Nancy Lipinski of South Hadley, Donna Kennedy & Chris of Lynn, former daughter-in-law Dottie Tobin of Groveland, and the late Robert M. Tierney.
She was the Grandmother/Great Grandmother of:
Justin, Tracey, Harlowe & Charlie Tierney of New York
Jason, Laxmi, Ajay & Priyanka Tierney of Salem
Ryan Lipinski & Dale, Spencer & Sydney of Danvers
Chad, Sarah, Cole & Tyler Lipinski of Danvers
Matthew Lipinski & Amanda of Essex
Emma Lipinski of South Hadley
Gavin & Meredith Kennedy of Lynn
She is also the Godmother of Brian Stone of New Hampshire.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Gloria and John spent over 50 years selling Christmas Trees and Flowers from their home that they built 75 years ago on Locust Street in Danvers.
She spent many years volunteering at the former Hunt Hospital and Beverly Hospital Gift Shops, the Kaplan House, as well as the Hospice of the North Shore/Care Dimensions for many years.
She was a long-time member of the Danvers Garden Club since 1959 and received her Certificate of Appreciation at their recent 2019-2020 Awards Meeting for her 60-year anniversary.
Her fondest interests were sewing, gardening, and last but not least, “Bingo!”
She also loved travelling around the United States via air and cruise ships.
