Gerald Bojas Obituary

Gerald Joseph Bojas, “Jerry”, died peacefully at home on June 6, 2020 in Middleton, MA at the age of 83.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion Bojas of Middleton, MA; his sister Marilyn Harber of Ann Arbor, MI; his son, Jonathan Bojas; his daughter, Julianne Hazard and her husband, Gregg Hazard of North Andover, MA; and his beloved grandchildren Emily and Dylan Hazard.  He is predeceased by his parents Jerome and Viola Bojas of Dearborn, MI.

Jerry was born on July 4, 1936 in Dearborn, MI.  He graduated from Wayne State University in 1958 with a degree in accounting.  Immediately after graduation he was enlisted into the Army where he served in the Finance School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis.  Following his service, he began working at Burroughs Corp., Detroit as an auditor.  He married Marion Nash in 1963 and continued with Burroughs, moving to Arcadia, California in 1969 as a Plant Controller.  They returned to Farmington Hills, MI in 1971 and shortly thereafter welcomed Jonathan and Julianne into their family.  In 1981, Jerry moved his family to North Andover, MA to accept a position as Controller of Compugraphic.  This was followed by a move to Medisense where he was Controller-Treasurer.  He was asked to come out of retirement to take a position with PhotoElectron as Chief Financial Officer.  At the end of his career, he happily retired to Ogunquit, ME.

Jerry was an avid tennis player and often embarrassed the younger competition.  He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved gardening, the beach, stamps, coins, and spending time with his family.  In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and family in Hilton Head, SC and Ogunquit, ME.
