George J. Sullivan, Jr.

George J Sullivan, Jr.,78, of Topsfield and Peabody passed away peacefully on October 13, surrounded by his family.

Surviving him is his wife Dianna (Cerbone) with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. He also leaves 3 loving children, Kathy Korslund, Scott Sullivan and Liane Daigle and her husband Jeff as well as 6 grandchildren, Erin and Kara Korslund, Sofia and Timothy Sullivan and Audrey and Kevin Daigle. He was the brother of Margaret Ferrante and Patricia Higley.

Raised in Revere, he was a graduate of Boston College and served 2 years as an officer in the Army. He lived in Peabody for many years until moving to Topsfield 7 years ago.

He began his career as an auditor for Price Waterhouse and then worked for Fidelity Investments where he was a Senior Vice President in charge of the fund accounting office.

He was also a partner in a hedge fund for several years.

After retiring, he was active on the board of directors of S E I investments, serving on several of their investment trusts and companies.  He was the audit committee chair for many of them. 

He also was a member of the Independent Director’s Council of the Investment Company Institute.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends skiing, playing golf and boating on Newfound Lake. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday Oct. 17th from 2 to 6 PM at Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St (Rte. 114) Middleton, MA. His Funeral Mass will take place on Monday Oct. 18th at 11 am at St. Adelaide’s Church Lowell St. West Peabody all are asked to meet at the church.
