George Stasinos Obituary

George E. Stasinos, of Peabody, MA passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2024 at the age of 57. A man whose laughter and love for adventure filled the lives of those around him with joy. Born on August 5, 1966, in Salem, Massachusetts George stayed around the Northshore all his life.

George was the beloved child of Emmanuel (Mike) Stasinos from Samos, Greece, and Ellen (Pazaetes) of Peabody, MA. He grew up in a vibrant household with his siblings Christos and wife Kathleen, Maria and husband Nikolaos Bakatselos, Theoharoula (Heidi), Michael and wife Jessica, and William and wife Susana. George's nieces and nephews, Panayiotis (Godson), Konstantinos Bakatselos, Sofia, Evanthia, Julia, and Amelia, knew him affectionately as Uncle Yogi, a name that captured his playful spirit and love for family.

George attended Peabody Veteran's Memorial High School. George worked for several years with his family in the Construction field and then transferred jobs to become a skilled plumber, working many years alongside his brother William in a profession that was both his livelihood and his passion.

Beyond his professional life, George was an avid outdoorsman with a zest for life that was contagious. He reveled in the freedom of riding his motorcycle through the scenic roads of New Hampshire, where the wind and the open road were his companions. A gun enthusiast, George respected and enjoyed the discipline of hunting, always with a deep appreciation for nature. George could light up a room with his presence ensuring that laughter was never in short supply. George was stubborn at times but had an enormous heart and sense of humor. He was authentic, generous, loyal and jovial. His friends and family will remember him as adventurous and kind—a man who would go out of his way to help others and share a moment of joy. George's warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

George's legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He is also survived by several first cousins, extended family members, and a community that adored him. His bond with his cousin and best friend Yianni Stasinos, who predeceased him, was one of profound friendship and mutual respect. Yianni's wife Suzanne and their children Alexis and Evan will hold onto the cherished memories they shared with George.

As we bid farewell to George Stasinos, let us remember him not with sorrow but with the joy he would have wanted. His life was a testament to living fully, loving deeply, and laughing often. George's journey on this earth may have ended, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In the words of his family and friends, George Stasinos was a man of great humor, boundless kindness, and an adventurous soul who made the world a brighter place. His memory will be treasured and his stories retold, keeping the essence of who he was alive for generations to come. Rest in peace, George. Your legacy of love and laughter will never be forgotten.
