George Gamble Obituary

Danvers, MA

George W. Gamble passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 10, 2024, in Lawrence, MA. He was born on June 8, 1932, in Boxford, MA.  He spent most of his adult life in Danvers, MA.

He was a dedicated family man.  He was always helping everyone from family to friends to strangers.  He loved sports, fishing, puttering around the house, but most of all watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play and grow.  George was loved by everyone who met him.  He had a kind, gentle spirit, a warm smile, and an infectious laugh.

George was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sally Gamble of 66 years. He was the best father ever to his children, Jeff and his wife Terri of North Andover, Jim and wife Suzanne of North Andover, Jack and wife Tracy of Danvers, and Debra Rees and husband Mike Migliozzi of Danvers. His role as Papa was one he held dear, sharing his life with grandchildren Tori, Abbi Espinal and her husband Larry, Sam, Erica Flynn and husband Tom, Max, Shannon, Marisa, Emma, Jake, Brenna and Kailee Rees, and Sarah Paul Migliozzi. George was also a proud great-grandfather to Ellie and Addie Espinal.  He leaves behind his dear sister Jane Durkee of Wenham.

George was a graduate of Topsfield High School where he was the captain of three out of the four sports he played.  He also graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with an associate's degree.  He served in the US Army as well.  He dedicated most of his career to Santin Engineering in Beverly, where he was respected for his work ethic and attention to detail. Even after retirement, George continued to serve his community as a crossing guard in Danvers.

George, aka Papa, will be truly missed by family and friends alike.
