Elma Lalimarmo Obituary

Elma Rafols Lalimarmo of Holbrook, MA, a beacon of love and intelligence, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 17, 1946, in Ibajay, Aklan, Philippines. Elma's life was a testament to her passion and dedication to her family, her career, and her faith. Her battle with cancer demonstrated her courage and grace, qualities that defined her throughout her life.
Elma was the cherished daughter of the late Godofredo and Cleofas Benitez Rafols. She was the beloved wife of Perfecto Lalimarmo, with whom she shared a devoted marriage since December 29, 1968. Together, they embarked on a new life in the United States in June 1970, where they built a beautiful family and Elma pursued a successful career. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen (Lalimarmo) Kraez, her husband Jeff of Naples, FL, and their daughters Rachael, Sydney, and Marissa of Longmeadow, MA; and Krystle (Lalimarmo) Curiale, her husband Jack, and their sons Niko, Gio, and Enzo of Middleton, MA. Elma was the oldest of ten siblings: Raquel, Myrna, Manuel, Freddie, Levy, Susan, Mildred, Gean, Sandra, and their spouses, along with many nieces and nephews.

Elma's educational journey was marked by excellence; she was the salutatorian of her elementary school, attended boarding schools at Filamer Christian University, and later transferred to Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City. She proudly graduated with Honors with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. Her intellect and work ethic led to prosperous careers at Gillette and Intral Corporation, where she was highly respected by her colleagues and peers.

Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Elma lived a life exemplifying the words of Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This scripture guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, inspiring her to approach each day with hope and determination.
Elma's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She found joy in traveling and cruising, often returning to her native town in the Philippines, where she reconnected with her roots and shared her adventures with her family. A food enthusiast, she was renowned for her delicious eggrolls and pancit, which she lovingly prepared for her grandchildren. Her zest for life extended to playing games, where her competitive spirit was always accompanied by a warm and engaging laughter.
Described as loving, intelligent, and passionate, Elma's legacy is one of unwavering love for her family and an enduring faith in God. She embraced life with fervor and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Elma Lalimarmo will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories of her family and friends. As we honor her life, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have on the world around them. She was a Mom and Mama to all.
