Elizabeth P. (Donnelly) Szypko

Danvers, MA – Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” (Donnelly) Szypko, 91, of Danvers passed peacefully on March 28, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Robert A. Szypko with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of George and Mary (McCabe) Donnelly. Betty grew up in West Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School.

When she wasn’t raising their 5 children, Mrs. Szypko was employed as secretary at Danvers High School, St Richards Parish in Danvers and later as a volunteer at Hospice of the Northshore and Blessed Sacrament Church in Saugus. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, storytelling, travelling and listening to Irish Music.

Betty leaves her five children, Paula Szypko, Martha Szypko, Jane Marchurs, Mark Szypko and John Szypko. She was the grandmother to Robert, Mary Ann, Colleen, Gregory, Joshua, Filip and the late Alexander Marchurs. She was the sister of the late George Donnelly.

Her memorial service will be held at St Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers at a later date to be announced. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to All Care Hospice 210 Market Street Lynn, MA 01901 https://www.allcare.org/donate/
