Edward Skinner Obituary

Edward (Ed) Skinner of Middleton (formerly of Everett) passed away at home on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at 82 years old after a long struggle with dementia and Parkinson’s. He was surrounded by his devoted wife Rosemary and loving children John Skinner and his wife Renee, Brian Skinner and his wife Shelley, Paula Weiner and her husband Robert. He also leaves his brother Richard Beskosty and his wife Marion and his beloved grandchildren Amanda George and her husband Gerard, Katie Amaral and her husband Tony, Alex Skinner, Austin and Abby Weiner, and his sweet great grandchildren Lyla, Emmie and Jack. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his father George Skinner, mother Jean and stepfather Peter Beskosty, sister Joan and her husband Donald Peterson.

Ed was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. His group of friends known as the “Road Saints” would cruise the streets looking for distressed motorists and provided roadside assistance.  During these high school years, Ed worked at his craft of metal spinning, a trade he always seemed to come back to throughout his long and varied career.  Over the years, Ed was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, Groveland Police, and Massachusetts State Police.  When not surrounded by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he loved the simplicity of a quiet walk on the beach in Maine with his wife Rosemary.  He also enjoyed boasting about the best looking lawn on the North Shore. Ed lived a fulfilled life as husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
