Edith (Pollard) Winskowicz

Edith Winskowicz (Pollard), age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her home in Middleton, MA after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Edith was born on Nov 1, 1946, in Lynn, MA to Edward and Lillian Pollard, and also raised by her aunt, Doris Savoie. She graduated from Danvers High School in 1964. After a few semesters at Salem State College, she acquired many entrepreneurial skills. She was a realtor, directed a fundraising company, and owned several jewelry companies, including opening a storefront in Marblehead, MA. 

Edith is survived by her husband, Richard Winskowicz, her two children, Troy Winskowicz and Tracy Finocchiaro, her daughter in law, Melissa Perry, her son in law, Paul Finocchiaro and her grandchildren, Courtney Finocchiaro, Abigail Winskowicz, Ashley Finocchiaro, Kayla Finocchiaro, and Jack Winskowicz. 

Edith, better known as “Ammi”, enjoyed spending time with her family, admiring every moment with them. She also spent her free time crocheting hats and blankets to donate to children in foster care and hospitals. 

Edith’s favorite place to travel was in North Conway, NH to admire the Fall foliage, and in prior years her and her husband spent time traveling across the states in their motor home, visiting national parks and forests. She felt most at peace while enjoying the morning sunrises, holding a warm mug of coffee. 

Edith had a warm, gentle, and caring personality that touched everyone in her life. Through her long battle with cancer, she maintained her strength and spirit. 

There will be an intimate Celebration of Life in December with more details to follow where friends, family and other loved ones are welcome to gather and share memories of Edith.

 In lieu of sending flowers, we ask to make donations in “Ammi’s” name to Care Dimensions Hospice.
