Dorothea Muise Obituary

Dorothea J. Muise, affectionately known as Dottie to her friends and family, passed away on February 20, 2024, in Limestone, Maine, at the age of 87. Born on January 21, 1937, in Everett, Massachusetts, Dottie was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.

Dottie grew up in Everett and was a proud graduate of Everett High School.

She was married to the love of her life, the late Richard D. Muise, with whom she shared many cherished moments and built a loving family. The couple's legacy continues through their children: daughter Tracy Muise and her husband William Martinuk of Limestone, ME; son Scott Muise and his wife Kristin of Aiken, SC; and daughter Coral and her husband Paul Steiger of Peabody, MA. Dottie's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Ret. Sgt. Andrew Muise and his wife Tori of Limestone, ME; Major Jason Muise of Las Vegas, NV; Warrant Officer Justin Muise and his wife Gabby of Savannah, GA; and Brittanee Steiger and her partner Shaun Courtney of Pittsfield, MA. She also delighted in her role as Gigi to Makayla and Andrea Muise.

Dottie was predeceased by her parents, Charles J. Crocker Sr. and Thelma L. Crocker, as well as her brothers James W Crocker Sr., Donald C. Crocker, and sister Barbara A. Crocker  . She is survived by her brother, Charles J. Crocker Jr., along with many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and guidance.

Dottie's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. A natural caregiver, she created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She relished in spending time with her family, whether it was through shared meals, reading together, or playing a competitive game of bingo with family and friends. These simple moments were the ones she treasured most, and they became the stories retold at gatherings, much to the delight of all present.

Her presence was a constant in the lives of those she touched, and her absence will be deeply felt. Dottie's kindness, her gentle spirit, and her enduring optimism are the legacies that she leaves behind. Her life was a testament to the power of family, the joy of companionship, and the value of a life well-lived.

As we say goodbye to Dorothea J. Muise, we celebrate a life that was full of purpose and happiness. Dottie's story does not end with her passing, for she lives on in the hearts of her family, the smiles of her grandchildren, and the countless lives she enriched with her generosity and love. Her journey was one of grace and resilience, and she will be remembered as a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved husband and other family members who predeceased her. Dottie's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and love she shared with all of us.
