Dolores Janiak Obituary

Dolores P. (Jarzynka) Janiak, of Danvers, died on May 9, 2024, at the age of 92 from natural causes due to symptoms of Dementia.

She was the daughter of Frank J and Clara B Jarzynka. Predeceased by husband Martin J Janiak Sr of whom she was married to for 66 years before he
passed on December 21, 2020 from metastatic prostate cancer and old age. Dolores leaves behind 3 children - Donna M Moriarty, Martin J Janiak Jr and Diane F Baraket; nephew Christopher T Jarzynka and cousin Eddie Ciesinski and his 3 sons Billy, Michael and Jack.

Graduated Salem High school and went on to graduate from Salem Hospital School of Nursing which was completed in 3 years. Started her career at Salem Hospital as an operating room nurse and working in the nursery with the new babies. After the hospital, “Dolly” worked atSalem OBS and GYN as head nurse / office Manager until retirement. She was very well respected by her group of Doctors she supported; Dr.s Belock, Dale, Kavanaugh and Ryan, fellow nurses and office staff.

Dolly kept busy with her many hobbies, including gardening, knitting, sewing, reading romance novels, and golfing which became her passion after retirement. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She often cooked traditional Polish dishes, which she learned from her mother and her aunts. There always were fresh baked desserts in the house, as her husband had a sweet tooth.

Dolly loved the ocean and the beach and spent hours there working on her tan. Her two main “go to’s” was either Lynch Park in Beverly MA or with her dear friend and neighbor Jane Dembowski at Crane’s Beach in Ipswich MA. If she couldn’t make it to the beach you would find her in the back yard on a lounge chair reading a romance novel and drinking iced coffee getting her daily dose of Vitamin D. She also loved the weekly neighborhood get together with the girls. Enjoying a variety of potluck food, and wine as the chosen beverage. So many fun stories, personal topics and milestones discussed amongst this group as they shared so many memories for over two decades.

In this moment when you feel there is none, here is the good news. Death may have taken Dolores, but it can’t take your memories of her; those wonderful and perfect and beautiful memories…those are ours to keep. Please share some of your memories and stories of mom on her memorandum page. The family would love to read some of the amazing experiences and times you were able to share in her life.
