Diane L. Castellana

Diane L. Castellana, or Mimi to her loving family, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a short illness at the age of 77. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, humor, generosity, and the active, devoted love she gave to her family and friends.

Diane was the beloved wife of Angelo for 41 years. She was a loving mother to Angelo's daughters Donna and Terri and grandmother to their children Catherine, Jackson, Julia and Benjamin. She was a devoted sister to Kathleen and Lillian, sister-in-law to their husbands Al and Bob, and a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews through them.   Whether as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, caregiver, or devoted daughter, Diane embraced each role with tenderness, loyalty, and loving care.

For decades, Diane also successfully co-owned, managed, and operated Scissorgy, a Peabody hair salon where she built and served a large, loyal clientele until her retirement. Her work reflected the same care, warmth, and personal attention that defined the rest of her life, and the relationships she formed with her clients were a meaningful part of her legacy.

She and Angleo openly shared their beautiful homes in Wolfeboro, Jupiter, Middleton, and Lynnfield, with the extended family and friends over holidays, weekends and vacations.  Diane created warmth around every table she set, every home she opened, and every holiday and family gathering she helped make special.

Her family will especially cherish memories of time together on picturesque Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro where her hospitality, care, laughter, and love made the lake house feel enchanted.   Diane loved Christmas and created magical holidays for the family and many special memories that will last with us forever.

Diane’s love extended to all who depended on her, including the many beloved dogs she helped raise and care for over the years, and currently their collie Lucy.

She leaves behind a large extended family strengthened by her devotion and a legacy of kindness, welcome, tradition, and home. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
