Deborah Picillo Obituary

June 13, 1956 – August 24, 2026

Deborah Jean (MacGlashing) Picillo, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24th, at her home in Laguna Niguel, California, surrounded by her family, following a courageous three-year battle with a glioblastoma. Deb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished friend to many.

Born on June 13, 1956, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, to Richard MacGlashing and Eleanor (Mistyshin) MacGlashing, Deb is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; her devoted son, Lance MacCarthy, and daughter-in-law, Christianne (Douglass) MacCarthy; and her precious grandsons, Micah Wesley and Luke Anthony. She also leaves behind her sisters, Christine (MacGlashing) Coppola of San Francisco and Corinne (MacGlashing) Connor and her husband, Peter J. Connor, of Hampton, NH, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles T. MacGlashing of Pittsfield, NH, and Richard “Chico” MacGlashing of Exeter, NH.

Deb grew up in Danvers, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of Danvers High School before finding her way to Southern California, where she thrived. She was blessed with a rich and wonderful life surrounded by family and many close friends — her “village,” as she called them. Her greatest joy was being called “Grammy” and spending time with her beautiful grandsons, whether playing, reading, swimming, or simply being together.

Deb’s career as a clerk of courts for the Superior Court of Orange County, California, spanned nearly three decades, during which she built many deep and lasting friendships. She loved the beaches of Southern California and the mountains and natural beauty of Utah, where she spent many happy years exploring with her husband, Ken. She and Ken also traveled to national parks with friends and to Italy with family, and made cherished memories at some of her favorite places: Great East Lake, New Hampshire; Harpswell, Maine; Cortez and Durango, Colorado; and Palm Springs, California. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
