Obituary

Daniel W. Payne, 84, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Priscilla (Anderson) Payne. He was the owner of Paynes Truck Center for over 40 years in North Reading and operated a U-Haul center for 25 years.

A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served abroad on the U.S.S. WASP & the U.S.S. Caperton.

He leaves his children, Patty Payne, Daniel & Nikki Payne, Ronald Payne, Charlie Payne and Kathy Payne. His grandsons, Corey Payne, Brandon and Brandi Payne, Christopher and Annie McFadden, Taylor DiTomaso and Tashia Cramer.

His great-grandchildren, Daniel McFadden, Mckenna Payne and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his mother and step-father, Genevieve and Herb Newbury, his siblings, Ron Davis, Shirley Hewlett, Joanne Payne and Herb Newbury Jr.

Services on Thursday 4:30-7:30 pm, Burial on Friday will be private.
