In Loving Memory
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and husband, Daniel Alexander DeFinis, just a few days shy of his 92nd birthday.
A truly extraordinary man, Dan lived a life full of energy, kindness, humor, and unwavering love. He was the devoted husband of Marie, the proud father of four children: Susan Capodilupo, Donna Solano, Daniel, and Steven; the cherished grandfather to seven; and the adored great- grandfather of six. He was also a loving cousin to Sandra and Peter Edmonds of Peabody, Ann Doyle of Tewksbury, Michael Bazzuto of North Reading, and Gary Brown of Easton. He was a steady, joyful presence in all our lives.
Those who knew him—whether for decades or just a moment—were struck by his warmth, his wit, and his quiet strength. Always quick with a smile and a kind word, he made every person feel welcome. He loved being outdoors, working in the yard, fixing things around the house, and sharing his endless curiosity and energy with his family.
Even into his late 80s, his vigor and spirit never waned—at 88, he jumped off a boat into the ocean simply because it was a beautiful July day, and of course, climbed right back in without help. That was just who he was: capable, full of life, and always up for an adventure.
He loved games, laughter, and time spent with family—especially when it meant playing alongside his great-grandchildren. He showed us every day how to live fully, love deeply, and approach life with humility and humor.
We will miss him more than words can say, but we carry his memory with us in every story, every smile, and every moment of joy he helped create.
