Cindi Mumbauer Obituary

Cindi M. Mumbauer, known lovingly to family and friends simply as Cindi, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 3, 1979, in Danvers, Massachusetts, and lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and devotion to the people she loved most.

Cindi was the beloved wife of John Mumbauer and the devoted mother of Corey Mumbauer, her eldest son; Crystal Mumbauer, her eldest daughter; and Julia Mumbauer, her youngest daughter. She was cherished by brother Randall Keenan, sister Candy Ward, all her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every role she held within it. Those who knew her best will remember her as selfless, loving, and intelligent, qualities that were evident in the way she cared for others, encouraged those around her, and met life’s challenges with grace.

A proud graduate of Danvers High School, Cindi continued her education with determination and purpose. She completed two years of nursing studies at North Shore Community College before earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salem State University. Her commitment to learning reflected the same dedication that would later define her career in healthcare. She believed deeply in the value of helping others, and nursing gave her a way to put that belief into action every day.

Cindi served as Nurse Manager at Habit OPCO in Lynn, Massachusetts, where she was respected for her leadership, her professionalism, and the genuine care she showed to both patients and colleagues. Her work was more than a job; it was a calling. In Quarter 4 of 2024, she was named Northeast Region Employee of the Quarter, a recognition that spoke to the excellence, reliability, and compassion she brought to her role. She led with kindness and integrity, and she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.

Outside of her career, Cindi found joy in the simple and creative pleasures of life. She loved bedazzling, making jewelry, and enjoying other crafts that allowed her creativity to shine. She also treasured spending time with her family and pets, and she found happiness in shopping and sharing everyday moments with the people she loved. Her interests reflected her bright spirit and her appreciation for beauty, connection, and making life a little more special for those around her.

Cindi will be remembered for her warm heart, her steady presence, and her unwavering love for her family. Her life was a testament to perseverance, devotion, and kindness. Even in the face of illness, she remained a source of strength and comfort to others. As Helen Keller once wrote, “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Those words reflect the enduring imprint Cindi leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her husband, children, siblings, extended family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives were touched by her remarkable spirit. Her memory will continue to live on in the love she gave, the lives she shaped, and the countless moments of care and joy she shared.
